1 Acceptance & Scope

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you ("User") and [Legal Entity Name] ("we", "The Muslim") governing your use of The Muslim mobile app and website and all their features (the "Service").

By downloading, registering for, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2 Definitions

• Service — all features of The Muslim, including prayer times, the Qur'an, supplications, dhikr, qibla, calendar, knowledge, community, chat, news, charity, and other features available now or in the future.
• Account — a user identity created through a third-party sign-in provider (e.g. Google or Apple).
• User Content — any material you upload, send, or share through the Service.
• Ustadz — a religious-consultation provider registered and verified on the Ask an Ustadz feature.

3 Eligibility & User Accounts

You must be at least [13] years old to use the Service. If you are below the age of majority under applicable law, you confirm that you have obtained permission from a parent or guardian.

• You are responsible for keeping your account confidential and secure, including access to the sign-in provider you use.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs through your account.
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

4 Licence to Use the App

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or exploit any part of the Service without our written permission.

5 Islamic Content & Important Disclaimer

We strive to present accurate Islamic content that is, where possible, reviewed by competent parties. However, please note:

• Prayer times, qibla direction, and the Hijri calendar are calculated astronomically based on your location and chosen method. The results are estimates and may differ from official local determinations. Please verify with a local authority or mosque if in doubt.
• Knowledge content, reminders (tazkirah), and consultation answers are general guidance and not official fatwa. For important matters, consult qualified scholars or religious authorities.
• Differences of opinion between schools of thought (madhhabs) are normal; the choice of method and preference is entirely yours.

6 Community Guidelines & Chat

The community, forum, and chat features exist to strengthen brotherhood (ukhuwah). When using them, you agree to maintain good conduct and not to:

• Upload content that violates the law, Islamic principles, decency, or the rights of others.
• Spread hate speech, ethnic or religious incitement, defamation, bullying, harassment, or threats.
• Spread hoaxes, spam, fraud, malicious links, or unauthorized advertising.
• Impersonate another person or institution, or falsify religious credentials.
• Collect other users' data without permission, or interfere with the security of the Service.

We may moderate, hide, or remove content and take action against violating accounts. You can report violations using the Report feature in the app.

7 Ask an Ustadz [when available]

Ask an Ustadz is a service that connects Users with a verified Ustadz for paid consultations.

• Verification: Scholars register and are reviewed before receiving a verified badge. Verification is not a guarantee of absolute correctness for every answer.
• Nature of answers: Answers reflect the Ustadz's personal view and are guidance, not official fatwa or legal/medical advice.
• Fees & platform fee: Users pay the listed rate. We take a service fee on each transaction, and the remainder is passed on to the Ustadz.
• The relationship between a User and an Ustadz is between them; we act as the platform provider.

8 Premium Subscription & Payment

• A subscription gives access to premium features and content plus an ad-free experience, according to the chosen plan.
• Payment and billing are processed through third-party providers (e.g. the App Store or Google Play). Their terms, auto-renewal, and cancellation are subject to those providers' policies.
• Auto-renewal: Unless cancelled before the period ends, a subscription may renew automatically. Manage or cancel it through your store account settings.
• Refunds follow the relevant store's policy and applicable law.
• Prices may change; changes will be notified before they take effect in the next billing period.

9 Charity, Waqf & Donations

The Charity & Waqf feature lets you channel donations through partner institutions.

• Confirmed donations are generally final and non-refundable, unless stated otherwise.
• Distribution is carried out by partner institutions according to each program; we strive to display program information transparently.
• We may charge an administrative/operational fee, which will be disclosed reasonably.

10 Marketplace & Transactions [when available]

• The Marketplace brings together sellers and buyers of curated halal products and services such as Umrah/Hajj, Qurban, and Aqiqah packages.
• Sellers are responsible for the authenticity, quality, legality, and delivery of their products/services.
• We charge a take-rate on transactions and provide a buyer↔seller communication channel in the app.
• Transaction disputes are resolved through the mechanism we provide and applicable law.

11 Your Content & Intellectual Property

All rights to the Service, including trademarks, logos, designs, and software, belong to us or our licensors.

You retain ownership of the User Content you create. By uploading it, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the Service. You warrant that you hold the rights to the content you share.

12 Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to: break the law; disrupt or damage systems; access data without authorization; distribute malware; commit fraud; or any other act prohibited by these Terms.

13 Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Service will always be free of interruptions or errors, or that all content is fully accurate. Use of the Service is at your own risk.

14 Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service. Our liability, if any, is limited as provided by applicable law.

15 Indemnification

You agree to release and indemnify us from any claims, losses, or costs arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Service.

16 Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access in the event of a breach of the Terms, a legal request, or reasonable operational grounds. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app settings.

17 Changes to the Service & Terms

We may update the Service and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the app or other appropriate channels. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

18 Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Any dispute will first be addressed through deliberation; if unresolved, it will be settled through [forum/jurisdiction: e.g. the competent District Court or an arbitration body].

P1 Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use the Service. As the Data Controller, we are committed to handling your data responsibly.

P2 Data We Collect

• Account data: name, email address, and profile photo from the sign-in provider (Google/Apple) you use.
• Location data: to calculate prayer times, qibla direction, and the calendar (see section P4).
• Device & technical data: device type, operating system, device identifier, and notification token.
• Usage data: features opened, preferences, saved verses, and interaction history.
• Content you create: posts, chat messages, and other input.
• Transaction data: subscription, donation, and purchase history. Payment details (e.g. card) are processed by the payment provider and are not stored by us.

P3 Legal Basis & Purpose of Processing

We process data based on your consent, performance of the service you request, legal obligations, and/or legitimate interests. The purposes include:

• Providing and personalizing features (prayer times, qibla, content, etc.).
• Sending adhan notifications and reminders you have enabled.
• Processing subscriptions, donations, and transactions.
• Maintaining security, preventing misuse, and enforcing the Terms.
• Improving the quality of the Service and providing user support.

P4 Location Data

Location data is used mainly for the accuracy of prayer times and qibla. You can choose to share your location automatically or enter your city manually, and you can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. Turning off location may reduce the accuracy of certain features.

P5 Sharing Data with Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared on a limited basis with:

• Service providers (hosting, analytics, notifications) that help operate the Service, under confidentiality agreements.
• Payment & store providers to process transactions and subscriptions.
• Partner donation institutions to channel charity/waqf, as needed.
• Sellers/Ustadz only the data needed to complete a transaction or consultation you initiate.
• Competent authorities where required by law.

P6 Storage & Retention

We retain data for as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes in this policy, and for as long as required by law (e.g. transaction records). Once no longer needed, data will be deleted or anonymized.

P7 Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your data. Even so, no system is entirely risk-free; we will respond to incidents in line with applicable rules.

P8 Your Rights

Under the UU PDP, your rights include the ability to:

• Access and obtain a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate data or update it.
• Delete your data or your account.
• Withdraw consent and restrict or object to certain processing.
• Raise objections and submit complaints.

P9 Minors

The Service is not intended for children under [13] years of age. If we become aware that we have collected a child's data without valid guardian consent, we will delete it. Parents and guardians may contact us about related matters.

P10 Cookies & Similar Technologies

On the web version, we may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, and understand usage. You can manage cookies through your browser settings.

P11 International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside Indonesia. In such cases, we seek adequate protection in line with the UU PDP and reasonable practice.

P12 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced through the app or other appropriate channels, with the latest update date noted.
